Coach Paul Murphy is from St. Louis, Missouri, swam and competed for the Hazelwood Swim Club and the Sugar Creek Swim Club coached by Jim Tynan. At the college level Paul competed for the University of Missouri-St. Louis and South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Paul began his coaching career in 1980 as Head Coach of the Berkeley Swim Team in Berkeley, Missouri. Since then, Coach Paul has coached many USA Olympic Trials, National and Sectional qualifiers, along with several HS All Americans. Coach Paul Murphy achieved his ASCA Senior Level 5 status in 1989 and ASCA Age Group Level 4 certification in 1998. Coach Paul has coached over 35 National top 16 individual swimmers with one National age group record holder in his career.
Coach Paul is excited to be coming to Danville and looks forward to working with the team. Some of his coaching statistics are:
