1 Hour Postal Swim

The one hour postal swim took place in January 2009. We had 5 team members comlete the swim, Lauri Belcher, Robin Cline, Jim Duncan, Tom Fedorka, and Russ Goodwin. Preliminary results are available at www.usms.org. Great job everyone!

Team Social APRIL 18!

We will be having a team social at the home of Pam Rogers on Saturday April 18 at 6:30 pm. Barbeque and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided, please bring a appetizer, side dish or dessert and your choice of other beverages to share. 2009 USMS Postal Swim

Our club will be participating in this event on January 31. Swimmers need to be at the Cenre pool at 6 am. Please plan on staying for 2 1/2 hours so that you can time/count for another swimmer. Each person swims as many laps as they can in 1 hour. For more information go to www.usms.org. We would love to have everyone that can participate! You must be a current USMS registered swimmer. Don’t forget our social scheduled for 5:30 – 7:00 pm this Friday at the 4th Street Deli and Tap. We will have some door prizes and Keith Dunn will be playing guitar starting at 7:00 pm if you want to hang around for some live music.

Please bring family and friends!! We are looking forward to seeing everyone in street clothes and without goggles on!

2009 Goals

I would like to hear some of your new year goals for 2009. My goal is to grow the masters group to at least twice its size and and enter some local competition. My second goal is to swim 4 to 5 days a week 2000 to 2500 yards per workout or 8 to 10,000 yards per week! I used to swim 8 to 10,000 per workout to 2 times a day!

There will be no Master’s Practice until January 5th. The Centre Pool will be open again on the 5th and regular practice schedule at Centre and the Wellness Centre will resume at that time.

USMS dues must be paid by January 1 2009. If you have not already done so please get your registration taken care of. Please bring a copy of your card to the pool and give it to Paul or Robin so we can keep them on file. Thank you!!
